Professional Statement

I am a licensed independent social worker who has been in the field for a decade. I have worked primarily with adolescents and young adults. The basis of my work has been patient-centered and strength-based. I find humor and honesty to be my main approach when it comes to connecting and building rapport with clients.

I see the client as the captain of the ship and I am here to assist you in navigating the waters. I believe in a strengths-based approach and pushing my clients to achieve their goals. I have extensive experience working with individuals facing major mental health challenges, social anxiety, gender dysphoria, depression, self-injurious behaviors, suicidality, and mood disorders. I have been primarily working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community over the last few years and have been able to assist many in feeling a sense of inclusion and acceptance. In addition, I have been able to connect with parents and guardians in navigating this challenging time.

I received my bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary where I majored in psychology and Hispanic Studies. I completed my MSW at Boston College and I interned at Catholic Charities of Boston where I worked with a bilingual population to help attain their GED's and reduce performance anxiety. I also interned at Boston Day and Evening Academy where I lead groups and individual therapy to the students there. My primary position is as a psychotherapist at Fenway Health where I work with individuals aged 12-29 who primarily are members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I work directly with clients and their families in navigating issues around gender and acceptance. Prior to my work at Fenway, I worked at Vinfen with individuals living with major mental illness. There I would assist individuals in their desire to be more independent and increasing their agency. At Vinfen, I was able to expand my knowledge of working with individuals with Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality disorder, and PTSD.

Outside of work, I love hanging out with friends, cars and automotive history, traveling, and cooking. I am always looking out for the next adventure or dish to cook.
