About Será
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker and a part-time social work professor at Boston University. I’ve spent 20+ years working with adolescents, young adults, families, parents and groups. My approach combines relational, humanistic, strengths-based and narrative theories.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. My style includes creating a nonjudgmental and warm space for my clients to work through difficult emotions. You can expect an authentic experience where you can laugh, cry, and explore ways to improve your quality of life. When appropriate, I also provide feedback and challenge clients to try on new ways of approaching their lives.
I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Pine Manor College and my master’s in social work from Boston University. I’ve worked in multiple settings including intensive residential treatment program (IRTP), public middle and high schools, hospital emergency room and outpatient psychiatry (Children’s Hospital Boston), and a therapeutic day treatment and school (Riverside Community Care). I’m currently the president of the International Association for Social Work with Groups – MA Chapter. I have also been clinical faculty for the past 8 years at both Wheelock College and Boston University.
Outside of work I love spending time with my family & friends, watching bad reality tv, hot yoga, swimming in the ocean and watching sports.
