Professional Statement

Therapy promotes the use of effective and practical tools that aim to improve an individual’s mental health, self-empowerment, and ability to foster healthy relationships. Therapy can help people figure out who they are, what their goals are, and discover paths to fulfillment.

I work with clients to form therapeutic relationships that create trusting, respectful, and non-judgmental spaces as a foundation for long-lasting improvement. I aim to work in partnership with clients to find healthy avenues of self-expression, handle difficult life transitions, and cope with difficult emotions.

I firmly believe that clients are the experts in their own lives, and that therapy should be client centered. Therapy requires flexibility to be effective; I tailor my practice to a client’s needs, interests, and strengths.

I’ve spent years working in diverse environments with unique populations. I worked with the Boston College Innocence Project, providing services to individuals wrongfully convicted of crimes. I ran group/individual therapy sessions at the St. Elizabeth’s Partial Hospitalization Program for anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and schizophrenia. Most recently, I worked for the MA Department of Mental Health, where I provided therapeutic interventions to recently housed homeless elders with schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorders in a residential setting.

I believe everyone deserves access to mental health services. I hope to serve as a guide, working collaboratively with clients who wish to become their best selves.
