Professional Statement

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about supporting people through mental health challenges, relationship difficulties, significant transitions, and the many other complexities of being human. I bring a breadth of life experience to my practice, which helps me connect with clients in a meaningful and compassionate way.

My therapeutic style is relational, strengths-based, and client-centered. I believe in meeting each client where they are, and I am committed to working collaboratively to help clients reach their treatment goals. I incorporate skills and techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy, as well as a dose of humor, to create a personalized approach for each individual. I strive to provide a safe environment for clients to explore their emotions and create meaningful change.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in economics and art history from Dartmouth College and my master’s in social work from Simmons University. Prior to joining Hope Ave Therapy, I worked as an outpatient therapist at Eliot Community Human Services, where I treated adults across the age spectrum who faced a variety of obstacles, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, self-injurious behaviors, suicidality, relationship difficulties, and substance use disorder.

Earlier in my professional career, I spent eight years in the field of corporate finance, where I worked as an investment analyst for several private equity and private debt firms in the Boston area. During this time, I also volunteered as a trained call responder for the Samaritans suicide helpline. These shaping experiences sparked my interest in interpersonal dynamics, human resilience, and the power of social connection.

In my free time, I find joy and peace in the company of family and friends. I love to read, write, listen to music, make soup, take nature walks, and binge my favorite podcasts. I also enjoy lengthy (mostly one-way) conversations with my senior Himalayan cat.
