Professional Statement

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor experienced in working with kids, teens, and adults experiencing a variety of life’s challenges, both acute and chronic. Choosing to begin therapy is an important first step in making a positive change- my approach in joining you in that process is to provide a supportive, safe, nonjudgmental space where we can work collaboratively to address your goals. You can expect my style to be warm, relational, and when appropriate to use humor and provide feedback or so we can identify and challenge ways of thinking or patterns of behavior. I typically draw from various treatment modalities including dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), as well as strengths-based and attachment-based frameworks, though can offer more play and sensory-based interventions when appropriate as well.

I received my master’s in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine and have since worked in a variety of clinical and supervisory roles, including in outpatient community mental health with individuals across the lifespan, residential care with youth, and day treatment with teens. I’m well suited to working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions or relational challenges, those wanting to address symptoms related to experiences of trauma, as well as folks interested in increasing self-esteem or enhancing skills to more adaptively manage stressors and improve overall quality of life.

In my free time, I enjoy watching all kinds of bad reality tv, reading better books, and spending time with my pandemic-adopted dog.
